Beauty on a Budget- Press on nails

Fashion and BeautyRenee DickComment

Trust me I was skeptical at first. I remember using press on nails in middle school, you would be all stoked to put them on, then one single move and bam those things popped off left and right. I don’t know if I am making this up or not, but I remember them being crazy freaking long too, like the nails you only see on the creepy sample hand that every salon used to have. You remember right? When airbrushing cool designs and an obscene amount of jewels were super dope to have. Wow that just took ya girl back to the early 2000’s.

Press on nails have come a long way. For one, the style options are insane. They have multiple lengths and every trendy color you can think of. They have matte, gloss, glitter, designs and even jewels! Now I can create any design I want for less than $10 and half the time.

They come in handy for events like holidays, weddings, bridal showers, prom or last minute invites. You don’t have to worry about making an appointment, just run to your favorite drug store and grab a box. The Kiss brand that I like come with everything you need. The glue and file are nicely placed in the box for you.

I first lay out the sizes of the nail to fit each finger, once I find the size I flip the nail over and look for the number to find it’s pair. Then I lay them out in order so I can just grab them once I have the glue ready. I put the glue all over my nail, be careful not to use to much glue because it will make your skin stick to your nail and I kid you not that shit hurts so bad. Once I finish applying all the nails, I cut them with regular nail clippers if they are to long and then file to my desired shape. You can leave them the way they come, it just depends on your preferred style.

They have lasted me 2 weeks, usually I take them off before then just because I get bored. I haven’t experience any damage to my nails and I think it is because I keep them on for a long time, if you rip them off after a day I would guess you will get some damage. So for less than $10 I think you have nothing to loose by giving them a try! If you have any questions just comment below and I will be happy to answer them for you!
