Beauty Tips-Drug Store Eyebrows

Fashion and BeautyRenee DickComment

We all love good Brows right? I have always had thicker eyebrows and never considered coloring them in, that is until I met Brittany. She would color in my brows every time she would do my makeup that after a couple times I was sold. As I get older they are starting to thin out in the corners. That is where the main focus is for me. By filling them in I get a more defined shape and it completes my overall look.

Brittany shares her 3 favorite Brow products and why in this weeks Post! I will link all products she mentions in the video for easy shopping! Hope you enjoy these fabulous tips!

EyeBrows-

Maybelline Brow Drama- Hairspray for Eyebrows

Maybelline Brow Pencil Duo- Brow defining to create strokes, gives a micro-blade look

Maybelline Tattoo studio Brow Pomade- It comes with an angle brush and spoolie to comb it out.

GirlCode! A Forum for Women

Self ImprovementRenee DickComment

Do you ever just want to know an honest review on a product? Maybe you moved to another city and want to know where the good stores are for shopping. Have you tried grocery delivery? Wouldn’t it be nice to get some honest reviews before you signed up? Need a healthy recipe for dinner but not sure where to find one?

I am just like you, I have all of these types of questions on a daily basis. Pinterest and Instagram are great for these things, but don’t you just feel like you would rather hear it from a girlfriend you trust? I know I do, I personally love the idea of having a place to go with real people like me that are going to give honest opinions about things.

Even just to remain a little anonymous and chat about things we hate or need help with. Not to brag but the community of women I hang with are the coolest people around. That’s why I trust what they are posting in GirlCode.

For example, I found this coupon code for an online boutique that I love, the prices are always just at that mark where they are expensive, so I went on the hunt for some coupon codes. I ended up finding one for 25% off and learned the dates that they send free shipping emails. Now wouldn’t that be a great tip for women shopping? Totally right? But there wasn’t a place to share it, not anymore. GirlCode is now full of topics like that, they are meant to make your life easier and fun and hopefully save you some cash along the way!

So how do you post? Or how do you read the topics? Easy! You can find the GirlCode section in the menu bar on the blog. Clicking that will take you straight to the forum where you can see all topics and click on the ones you are interested in. You can leave a comment, like a topic or just read it, no rules just whatever you feel like doing! To create a new topic just click New Topic and start posting. You will have to enter an email address to post and comment but you will not receive any spam emails or anything like that don’t worry, I made sure.

So what are you waiting for? Get to posting sister! I’ll see you inside of GirlCode!

Beauty Tips- Drug Store Mascara

Fashion and BeautyRenee DickComment

This is definitely one product that I struggle with. I will get one that is so clumpy or thick that I look awful. Or even worse the ones that stain the bottom of your lash line, so annoying. Brittany can totally agree with me on this one and this is why she shares her tip to create the perfect mascara! She is obsessed with lashes and I can guarantee if she is recommending it, you are going to love it! I linked all products below for easy shopping! If you are on the hunt for a new eyeliner check this Blog Post out for her recommendation!

Eyelashes-

Loreal Telescopic Mascara- She uses this first for length

Loreal Lash Paradise Mascara- Thicker and more volume, uses this one second.

My Favorite Drug Store Foundation!

Fashion and BeautyRenee DickComment

I used to be the ride or die expensive brand name foundation type……until they started costing more than $40! I mean come on, that is just ridiculous for how much you get and how short it lasts. I used to wear the Estee Lauder foundation and loved it, but I would have to buy it so often that I just couldn’t do it anymore. I switched over to Mac for a while, but they have so many damn kinds I could never remember which one I bought! Plus every time I would go in there to buy something I would walk out spending a couple hundred on shit I don’t even know how to use.

Now that I am mostly home throughout the week I didn’t want to use up all my expensive foundation when I was going to the grocery store, I mean Costco, yes of course, I dress up for that shit cause hello, it’s Costco. But the other stores, no, they get the natural me. I just wanted something to throw on that still gave me coverage while not breaking the bank. So to Pinterest I went, I read reviews, comparisons, and tried tons!

These are the 2 brands that actually worked and didn’t look cakey. L’oreal matte foundation and Milani foundation. They both give great coverage and do not cost a ton. I like them both for different reasons. The L’oreal is more of a matte finish and I like to wear that one when I am a little more tan, the colors match my skin tone better when they are darker for some reason. The Milani also has great coverage but has a more dewy finish, I can always find my match with that brand. They both last all day and have great coverage, if you like a lighter coverage foundation I wouldn’t recommend these two brands. I legit want like all the makeup on my face, like hide all the imperfections type of foundation, so if you are one of those blessed people that are pretty without makeup and just want some even color then these aren’t for you. I also use the Shape Tape concealer from Ulta, and on my at home days I use the Maybelline Master Conceal.

Y’all know I am all about finding a good deal, and these drugstore foundations don’t disappoint, if you give them a try let me know how you like them, or if you need more recommendations I would be happy to find some. If you have any other products you want me to write about leave a comment or email me and I would love to write about them!

Beauty on a Budget- Press on nails

Fashion and BeautyRenee DickComment

Trust me I was skeptical at first. I remember using press on nails in middle school, you would be all stoked to put them on, then one single move and bam those things popped off left and right. I don’t know if I am making this up or not, but I remember them being crazy freaking long too, like the nails you only see on the creepy sample hand that every salon used to have. You remember right? When airbrushing cool designs and an obscene amount of jewels were super dope to have. Wow that just took ya girl back to the early 2000’s.

Press on nails have come a long way. For one, the style options are insane. They have multiple lengths and every trendy color you can think of. They have matte, gloss, glitter, designs and even jewels! Now I can create any design I want for less than $10 and half the time.

They come in handy for events like holidays, weddings, bridal showers, prom or last minute invites. You don’t have to worry about making an appointment, just run to your favorite drug store and grab a box. The Kiss brand that I like come with everything you need. The glue and file are nicely placed in the box for you.

I first lay out the sizes of the nail to fit each finger, once I find the size I flip the nail over and look for the number to find it’s pair. Then I lay them out in order so I can just grab them once I have the glue ready. I put the glue all over my nail, be careful not to use to much glue because it will make your skin stick to your nail and I kid you not that shit hurts so bad. Once I finish applying all the nails, I cut them with regular nail clippers if they are to long and then file to my desired shape. You can leave them the way they come, it just depends on your preferred style.

They have lasted me 2 weeks, usually I take them off before then just because I get bored. I haven’t experience any damage to my nails and I think it is because I keep them on for a long time, if you rip them off after a day I would guess you will get some damage. So for less than $10 I think you have nothing to loose by giving them a try! If you have any questions just comment below and I will be happy to answer them for you!
